The Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs, are designed to change the world. They were put in place to eradicate poverty and inequality, safeguard the environment, and guarantee that everyone can live in peace, justice, and prosperity. The United Nations General Assembly (UN-GA) established the SDGs in 2015, with the goal of achieving them by the year 2030.
To end poverty and create a sustainable world, the 2030 Agenda defined "Sustainable Development Goals" with 17 goals and 169 targets.
In order to serve as a "common blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future," the Sustainable Development Goals, also known as the Global Goals, are a group of 17 interconnected goals.
