Go to the home page of Storybird and click “Sign up for Free” on the upper-right corner or in the middle of the background image to create a new account.Then you can personalize your account based on your roles and also set up your username, email address, and password. After completing all the procedures above, you can click “Create Account” to get access to your account.

After you put all required information and you will directed to a page for you to set up Avatar picture .You can upload your favorite picture or skip this step. Then you will see a screen. Click “Your Stuff” and you can see “Create”in the middle of the screen. Click “Create” and you will start to edit your story on Storybird.

Once you click “Create” in “Your Stuff”, you will be navigated to a page where you have to choose a tag and it should be such that describes the theme of your story.

Now you can choose arts for your tags. You can choose tags from the list.If you cannot find your tag in the list, type or paste it in the search box and you can see what the Storybird has for you. When you decide to choose one art, click “Use this Art” in the upper-left corner. Then among drop-down list, choose “Picture Book” since it is free for a class account. The next step is to edit your story in a white board with all the arts you choose surrounding. It is easy for you to create your story now. What you need do is to drag, drop, and type.

3. Organize elements on the canvas: If you are not satisfied with the design on the canvas, you can select the image and move within the canvas. You can move the image above the text, below text, on the left/right side of the image.

4. Add/ remove a page: To add a new page just click “+”, then you will have a new page added. Numbers will appear at the bottom of your image timeline to indicate how many pages you have selected for the story. If you dislike a page, just click “-”, the selected page will be deleted.

5. Change the cover: You can also change the cover if you do not like it. Click on the cover page to edit it. You can replace the cover with several options. Then click “Return”button to go back to editing screen. You can edit title and author information on cover.

6. Save and publish Storybird project: To save your story only, please click “Save”. If you would like to invite other to work on the story also, publish your story, or share the story with others, you can pull down the “Menu” to choose among “Invite”, “Publish”,and “Save and close”. Once you choose “save and close”, your Storybird project would be added to “Your Stuff”. If choose “publish,” it will go public.
