The English Education in G.R.E.S.
For the English education, being one of leading models in Tainan City, G.R.E.S. is currently undertaking several kinds of activities to not only promote the students’ English ability but also enhance the cross-cultural awareness. In classes, on the basis of designed English courses for students in different grades and following the the Grade 1-9 curriculum guidelines, other activities like English Day, English Week, English Read Corner, English Mobile Learning, and Seasonal and festival activities are provided, which are aimed to encourage the students' learning motivation. On the other hand, students in G.R.E.S. are having many opportunities to communicate with foreigners with the dedication to invitation and activities of foreigners, allowing students practicing English directly. Overall, there are two main focuses in English Education of G.R.E.S, which are, first, a great variety of English activities mixed into daily English classes including festivals, culture difference awareness and other English hardware; second, the readers' theater cultivating and motivating students' English ability.

With perceiving the importance of RT, G.R.E.S. has been adopting it into English class since 2008, and the effect is significant. After almost 8 years cultivating, outstanding students are specially trained for the competitions. In 2014, G.R.E.S. was awarded the Excellent Prize in the A3 Group of RT competition of Tainan elementary schools. Now, in G.R.E.S., the RT has been an indispensable part in English learning.

Currently, except for the content of English education of Grade 1-9 curriculum guidelines the most adopted implementation is to turn the daily communication into English, like English Day, classroom English, or festivals for the purpose of enhancing learning motivation and conversation practice. Besides, the hardware part is also an emphasis, where the main focus is on English reading corner and bilingual signs.
