Jelly Roll released his new song titled "I am not okay" right before the start of Men's Mental Health Month - and the irony is not lost on us. June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month so we’re kicking it off with an invitation to reflect on how you engage in self-care, self-love, and prioritize your mental well-being. Men’s mental health is not talked about enough, but mental health is just as important as any other health related concerns, if not more important. An abundance of research over the years explains that if your mental health is suffering your physical well being and social life may also be negatively impacted. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, men are less likely to receive mental health treatment than women in the last year. It’s important to prioritize your mental well being by engaging in preventative and protective self-care strategies, and show yourself some love!

It is often difficult to truly put into words what you may be feeling, but the rising country artist Jelly Roll may have just done it for you! On the Finale episode of the NBC television show, The Voice, Jelly Roll debuted his new song called “I’m Not Okay”. This song touched on the conversation of mental well-being. Jelly Roll sang about how sometimes poor mental health impacts other areas of life but sticking through it and coming out the other side has left him with a new appreciation for speaking about mental health. Check it out here

Our invitation for you:

You never know what someone may be going through! And as Jelly Roll sang, “When all is said and done, I am not OK. but it’s all going to be alright. You’re not okay, but it's all going to be alright”.
