Roy is a senior physics major and the former president of our chapter for the 2018-2019 academic year. He dreams of one day being able to dunk but unfortunately, he is still dreaming. He was the recipient for the 2019 SPS Leadership Scholarship and his past research includes going to Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and working on upgrades for experiment 906/SeaQuest and experiment 1039/SpinQuest. Additionally, he has worked on a Magnetic Optical Trap with other students in data collection. Currently, his research entails studying monte carlo simulation studies for unfolding hadrons-in-jet multiplicity measurements for the STAR experiment in Brookhaven National Lab.
Sam is a current senior medical physics major and the former secretary for our chapter in the 2018-2019 academic year. His research experience includes aiding the Nuclear Energy eXperimental Testing group in constructing a molten salt test loop and acoustic properties of system materials to create a novel flow meter. He has performed cancer research at the Texas Tech medical center in Abilene and is currently a recurring summer intern at M.D. Anderson in Houston working on radiation oncology.
Matt is a computer science and physics graduate from ACU and the former treasurer for our chapter for the 2018-2019 academic year. He is currently working for USAA as a software developer in Phoenix, Arizona. His previous research includes working on fluid dynamics simulation & modelling of coolant for the Nuclear Energy eXperimental Testing group at ACU.
