All About Owls
Reading and writing about owls
Students learned about all types of owls and created an accurate habitat for an owl they selected. They shared these habitats with other grade level students.
Students participated in a visit with real owls from Horizon Wings, during which they learned about the threats owls face in the wild, how different owl adaptations help them in their unique environments, and how owls have similar needs. Visitors included a screech owl, barred owl, barn owl, and great horned owl.
Students also dissected owl pellets to see what owls eat and how they impact the environment.
Students made new friends.
