To provide all students access to a comprehensive school counseling program that enhances the learning process through the development of academic, social-emotional, and career skills. School counselors support the development of translatable, lifelong skills to ensure students are effective communicators, resilient problem solvers, critical thinkers, and engaged citizens.
The School Counseling Program at Griswold High School is founded on the belief that students are individual learners capable of reaching their academic, social-emotional, and career potential when appropriate, comprehensive supports are in place. Students are provided developmental opportunities in a safe, supportive environment that fosters student growth. Collaboration with educational and community members further enhances this process so that students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to be both productive and successful.
School Counselors support students with their Academic, Social Emotional, and College/Career development. Meaning that we support all students to apply academic achievement strategies, manage emotions and apply interpersonal skills, and plan for postsecondary options (higher education, military, work force).
