Missing or Lost Chromebook

Students should report missing or lost Chromebooks to the media center staff before school (8:00 am-8:25 am) or during LIFT. If you lose your Chromebook or if it has been stolen, notify the media center staff and your grade level administrator IMMEDIATELY! The Educational Technology Department of Greenville County Schools has the ability to track every Chromebook (including who/when the Chromebook was last last logged in). It is important that we follow specific steps, which includes filing a police report. We have to file a claim within a certain time period, so do not wait to report it lost or stolen!

Media Center Staff will give you a "Missing Chromebook Form", which you will be required to fill out and get teacher and parent signatures. Students may fill out the Missing Chromebook form beforehand to facilitate a quicker process.

After a completed form is turned in, the Absolute tracker located in the Chromebook can be activated. This doesn't guarantee the Chromebook can be located. Students/Parents are responsible for the replacement cost if a Chromebook is lost. The current replacement cost is over $300.

Remember- the warranty does not cover a lost or stolen Chromebook. See the Woodmont Middle School Chromebook Policy for more information.
