WIN Work Ready Assessment (Fall 2025 - Seniors Only)
The WIN Work Ready assessment consists of four multiple-choice timed tests – Math, Reading, Data, and Soft Skills. These tests measure real world skills that employers believe are critical to job success. Students may earn WIN’s Work Ready credential and a Soft Skills credential which are recognized by businesses and industries nationwide. Students at Southside High School will complete the test October 28th-30th and November 3rd-6th. Students must report to their testing locations by 8:45am. Testing locations will close at 9:00am.
Juniors and Seniors will have the opportunity to complete the test in the Spring.
Taking the ACT and SAT is important for high school students because these standardized tests provide colleges and universities with a common measure to evaluate applicants from different schools and backgrounds. Strong scores can strengthen a student’s college application, open doors to more competitive schools, and increase opportunities for scholarships and financial aid. In addition, preparing for these exams helps students practice important academic skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management, which are valuable for success in higher education. Even as more schools adopt test-optional policies, having ACT or SAT scores can still give students an advantage in the admissions process and provide them with more choices for their future.
