PSAT-October 6th, 2026 (Registration is closed)
10th grade registration 11th grade registration Student Guide Test Prep
Greenville County Schools will offer the PSAT/NMSQT opportunity to students in their second year of high school, typically tenth-grade students enrolled in Greenville County Schools at no cost. The district/state will fund testing for these identified students. 3rd Year-High School students may participate for a fee as determined by the College Board. This test opportunity also applies to all students enrolled in the Greenville County Virtual Program. Students enrolled in the GCS Virtual Program provide their own transportation.
A district-wide registration window for GCS students in grades 8, 10, and 11 will occur from August 11-August 24. During the registration window, students will register to participate and arrange to pay the test fee if applicable. There are no refunds. Payments should be made using SchoolCash Online. This online payment platform replaces MySchoolBucks.
You may have already received, an automated email from noreply@schoolcashonline.com with instructions to create your SchoolCash Online account. If you have more than one student enrolled in Greenville County Schools, you will receive a separate email for each student. However, you only need to register once. After creating your account, you can add additional students from multiple schools.
PSAT/NMSQT Testing Announcement
For students who signed up for testing, mark your calendars with the following important dates:
Pre-Test Session: Friday, October 2, 2026
Time: 9:00am – 9:45am
Location: Cafeteria
All students must participate in a technology check-in to ensure devices are updated
Please bring your school-issued Chromebook fully charged
Virtual/Homeschool Students: Report to the front office at 8:45am with a photo ID
Virtual/Homeschool Students: A Chromebook will be provided by the school during the pre-test session
PSAT/NMSQT Testing: Tuesday, October 6, 2026
Time: 8:45am
Location: ROTC classroom
The test will be administered digitally
Registration is now closed
Virtual/Homeschool Students: Report to the front office at 8:30am with a photo ID
Virtual/Homeschool Students: A Chromebook will be provided by the school during the testing session
What to Bring:
Your school-issued Chromebook, fully charged
What is NOT Allowed:
Personal devices, including cellphones and other electronic devices
Blankets
Hoodies or hats (ears and head must remain uncovered while in the testing room)
Before Test Day: Students should review the PSAT Student Guide to familiarize themselves with the test format and expectations.
If you have any questions or concerns about your device, please see Ms. Burton or visit the media center before October 2nd.

WIN Work Ready Assessment-Spring 2026 (3rd and 4th year students)
The WIN Work Ready assessment consists of four multiple-choice timed tests – Math, Reading, Data, and Soft Skills. These tests measure real world skills that employers believe are critical to job success. Students may earn WIN’s Work Ready credential and a Soft Skills credential which are recognized by businesses and industries nationwide. Students at Southside High School will complete the test on Tuesday, March 24th and Thursday, March 26th. Students must report to their testing locations by 8:45am. Testing locations will close at 9:00am.

SAT School Day - Spring 2026
Southside students who opted to take the school-day SAT will complete the examination on Tuesday, March 10th. Students must report to their testing locations at 8:45am. Testing rooms will close at 9:00am. We will hold a pre-coding session on Wednesday, February 25th at 9:00am in the cafeteria.

College Readiness Exam-The registration window closed November 3, 2025
Preparing students who are College-Ready is an important responsibility of Greenville County Schools and the State of South Carolina. We want to ensure that all students have the skills necessary to pursue future education or begin a career after high school.
Your eleventh and/or twelfth grader has the opportunity to take either the ACT or the SAT. These tests are provided at no cost to you and are administered during the school day in Spring 2026. We will communicate your student’s specific testing date at a later date.
The ACT and the SAT are college entrance exams used by some colleges and universities in the admissions process. You may explore the links below for more information on the ACT or the SAT to help determine the best test for your child. Should you have any questions about the tests, please contact your school counselor.

To indicate your College Ready testing choice, the forms below will become active Monday, October 20, 2025 and close Monday, November 3, 2025. Students in the GCS Virtual Program are responsible for providing transportation to and from the school on test day.
Parents of students with IEPs or 504 Accommodations Plans will be contacted by your child’s case manager to discuss the student choice selection if the choice does not match prior plan documentation. If your student is served via an Individual Language Acquisition Plan and may require testing supports, please work with your school to apply for supports on or before November 3, 2025.
