What is dual credit?
Dual credit allows high school students to enroll in college courses and earn both high school and college credits simultaneously. This program is designed to give students a head start on their college education while still fulfilling high school graduation requirements. Our dual credit program is a collaborative effort between Southside High School and Greenville Technical College, offering an unique opportunity for students to challenge themselves academically and gain valuable experience in a college environment.
Eligibility
There are certain academic criteria that students must meet to be eligible to participate in the dual credit program. The basic requirements needed In order to take dual credit at Southside High School include:
- 3.0 GPA
- A or B in last 2 high school English classes
- A or B in last 2 high school Math classes
Course Offerings
Currently, we are only offering English 101 and English 102 at Southside High School. However, students do have the opportunity to take courses on campus at Greenville Tech and transportation will be provided.
