My name is Ellen Gordon and I am so exited to be the science WET LAB teacher! This is my 30th year teaching. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology from Tulane University, and then I completed a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Furman University. Additionally, I completed a M.A.+30 program in School Leadership from Furman University. Previously I have taught kindergarten, second, third and fourth grades, as well as hands-on science to kindergarten, first and second grade students. I also served as an Instructional Coach for five years.
I have two sons- Ryan and Seth. Ryan graduated from the University of South Carolina, and Seth is a senior there this year. Along with cheering on the Carolina Gamecocks, we are HUGE University of Kentucky Wildcats fans for BASKETBALL! We have three inquisitive and demanding cats named Skippy, Gray and Tucker, but I love all animals. I also enjoy reading, crafting, and spending time with family near and far.
Please see the pacing and syllabus for the 2025-2026 year. I look forward to experiencing the year with your child as they grow in knowledge and confidence in science and inquiry.
