Note to Parents & Students
Welcome to Spanish 1 CP with me at Greenville High School. Students in their first year of Spanish learn basic vocabulary and grammar (such as letters numbers, and colors, of course!). Yet they learn much more. Learning is focused upon speaking and listening just as much as it is on reading and writing. By the end of the year, all students should be able to function at a survival level with Spanish. Everyone should be able to talk and write about themselves, their family and friends, school life, and social lives, as well as understand when reading and listening to people on these same familiar topics.
Spanish 1 is just the beginning for learning this fabulous language. For some students, it is really hard and for others it is very easy. Parents, please know that I am here to support your child in any way I can. I consider your children as my children when they are with me and treat them as such. Students, please know that I will help you in any way I can to have a successful year in Spanish class and at school. As long as you do the work and try hard, you will succeed! Don’t hesitate to come to me with questions and problems, so that I can help you.
