What is Forensics?
Forensic Science uses scientific methods to investigate crimes and examine evidence that will eventually be presented in a court of law. It's a critical part of the criminal justice system, and forensic scientists use their findings to help investigators and prosecutors bring justice to victims of crimes.
Welcome to Mrs. Grier's Forensics class! This class is unique among the courses offered at Mauldin High School. We delve into topics that may be exciting, but unsettling, so having a clear understanding of the topics covered during the semester are key to deciding if this is a class you want to take.

Topics we will cover while we research these cases include:
Ballistics
DNA profiling
Arson
Fingerprinting
Bite marks
Blood evidence
Hair and Fiber analysis
Due to the nature of these cases, students will see graphic content and view material containing blood and gore, discuss the collection of materials in sexual assault cases, and read or hear inappropriate language.
