Graphic Communications 1 & 2: Building the Foundation
During the first year of Graphic Communications, students will develop the essential skills needed to succeed in the design and production industry. Students will learn the fundamentals of visual communication, design principles, typography, color theory, digital illustration, image editing, photography, and print production while gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment and software. Through real-world projects, students will learn how to take a concept from an initial idea to a finished product while practicing problem-solving, teamwork, attention to detail, and professional work habits. By the end of the year, students will have developed a strong foundation in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, experienced multiple areas of the graphics industry, and created portfolio pieces that demonstrate their creativity, technical skills, and readiness for future career opportunities or advanced study.
