Hello! I am Dr. Comey-Estoye, and this is my 19th year in education. Last year, I taught 2nd grade at Monarch Elementary, and this year I will be teaching 3rd grade!
Prior to returning to the classroom, I was an Instructional Technology Facilitator for 2 years, an Instructional Coach for 6 years, and a math and reading interventionist for 1 year. My previous classroom experiences include teaching Kindergarten and 3rd grade. I have taught and led summer school at the elementary and middle school levels. I also had the privilege of being on the EdCamp Greenville organizing team for four years.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Human Development, my Master's degree in Education, and my Education Specialist degree in Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Tech. *GO HOKIES!*
I proudly renewed my National Board Certification in Early and Middle Childhood Literacy in 2021, and I earned my Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction in 2024. It was an incredible experience to be hooded for my doctorate in Columbus, Ohio this summer!
My favorite activities are exploring the mountains with my husband, reading in a hammock, sitting by a campfire, and eating delicious food. My husband and I have a blended family, and we love making memories with our children. We also have 2 adorable cats named Beans and Tulip.
