Students have until 11:59 p.m. CT on Friday, October 9, to apply for free via the UA Undergraduate App (go through their website, not Common App). Applications submitted through the Common App will continue to require UA's standard $50 application fee during this time.
Winthrop Scholars Guarantee
Winthrop Scholars Guarantee
Beginning with the Fall 2027 entering class, South Carolina high school students who graduate in the top 15% of their class will receive:
Guaranteed admission to Winthrop University
At least $5,000 in Winthrop merit scholarship support
No family income requirement
The Winthrop Scholars Guarantee is designed to give academically accomplished students greater certainty early in the college search and recognize the work they have already done in high school.
Students who qualify do not have to demonstrate financial need to receive the guarantee. The program also complements Winthrop's other scholarship opportunities, so students may be considered for additional scholarship support based on our existing scholarship processes.

We'd like to introduce you to the Lyceum Scholars Program at Clemson University.
Now in it's 11th year, our program has become the premier intellectual program at Clemson University, offering a transformative curriculum, $60,000 scholarships, and unique mentorship opportunities.
We are looking for ambitious, high-achieving students who are interested in ideas and curious about the world around them. If you would like to learn more, join our virtual information session on Thursday, Oct. 1 from 6:30-7:30 PM.
The Lyceum Scholars Program application deadline is December 22, 2026.
NOTE: The application is accessible through the Clemson University portal AFTER a student has applied to Clemson.

VCUarts
Your students can experience VCUarts at our Open Houses on October 3 and October 31. They will be able to meet with faculty, staff, and current students; tour our beautiful campus and creative spaces; and learn about financial aid, housing, and other important topics in their college search process! We will also host National Portfolio Day on our campus on October 3. Our representatives will review students' artwork and share information on our programs, admissions, and financial aid.
Whether your students are able to visit campus or are exploring VCUarts from afar, there are plenty of opportunities for them to get to know us and discover what's possible here.

There will be two Zoom info sessions available for interested students, parents, counselors, cadet teachers to share application information and to answer questions about the Teaching Fellows opportunity. Campus directors for each TF program are invited to come and share a little about their institutions and answer questions as well. This is only for students graduating this year!

Graduation will be held at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena on May 27th. The ceremony will start at 11:30, students will need to arrive by 10:30.

There is an upcoming FAFSA Workshop on Monday, September 28th at 6:00 PM held in the Greenville High School Auditorium. As a reminder, the FAFSA window opens on Oct 1st.
Jonathan Rhodes from the SC Student Loan Corporation will be there to give parents the necessary information and will answer any questions parents and students may have. This event is sponsored by the Greenville Alumnae (SC) Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

The contest is open to South Carolina high school juniors and seniors in public, private and homeschools. Students don't need to apply to the South Carolina Honors College to enter. The application process, topic, and more information can be found on their website.

Bridge programs are selective transfer programs offered by invitation only. Students must be successful in their first year at a technical college, and students who meet the program's academic expectations are assured a successful transition to the University. As transfer admissions have become increasingly competitive, Bridge programs are an excellent option for students who are offered the opportunity.

Pell Grants can be used for shorter-term certification and licensing programs, even for students with bachelor's degrees, though eligibility for those with bachelor's degrees is limited to these specific programs.

All award letters should be uploaded regardless if you will attend that school or not. Uploading your award letter will assist your counselors with your scholarship totals.

FAFSA Changes
On August 7, 2024, the Department announced that the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form will be launched through a new process.
Starting on October 1, the Department will release the 2026-27 FAFSA form. A limited beta testing form may be available before this date for testing with a limited set of students and postsecondary institutions. The agency will make the FAFSA form available to all students October 1.
