The graduation committee at Mauldin High School understands the importance of this event to all members of the graduating class and their family and friends. While each student is deserving of (and perhaps the recipient of) numerous awards and accolades, the regalia worn by each graduate must be issued by the school and/or school District. Advisors of organizations that would like to honor graduates with some form of graduation regalia must submit a request in the fall of the year. Upon approval from the committee and the principal, the regalia may be worn at graduation by the organizations' members. Cords will be the only acceptable form of regalia, with the exception of the top graduates receiving stoles and the Valedictorian and Salutatorian both receiving medals. Students may not wear any type of regalia that has not been approved. Additionally, students may not alter their caps or gowns in any way to draw attention to themselves.
