I look forward to meeting you all in person this school year! This is my tenth year of teaching, and I am very excited. I have a Bachelor's degree in Art Education with a focus in ceramics from Penn State University. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and creating new memories with your children here at Greenville High.
You can see your child's syllabus for their corresponding class by clicking on their class's name at the top of this page. I urge you to look at my calendar as well to keep updated with your child's upcoming assignments (most will be in class but some may be homework or exams that they would need to prepare for on their own time). I also need you to take a look at the supply list on the according class.
As our year progresses, students will be featured under the Student Gallery tab (under 'Home' at the top), so keep an eye on that to see your child and his/ her friend's art posted. Our assignments are going to be posted weekly under the according assignments page at the top. For more details on what is going on in our class, you can click on the corresponding Google Classroom located in their assignments tab (you need your child's login information). Here the classes will spend most of their time blogging, discussing, and submitting assignments.
Please talk to your child and ask if they are submitting the assignments. Without submissions of work, it can be really hard to pass my class. If they are not finished, they can submit the unfinished work and then submit the final finished piece later for deducted points each day late. But I NEED those assignments on time, so please, please help me on stressing that!
Again, I look forward to meeting all of you throughout the year. If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to call the school or email me!
Looking forward to a great year,
Mrs. Mattson
