Missing, Lost, & Stolen Chromebooks

From GCS:
Please note that students who a leave Chromebook unattended are being negligent. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure the safety of their device at all times, much as they would with their wallet/purse or other valuable items.

Students should report a missing or lost Chromebook to the Chromebook Support room before school (8:30 am-9:15 am) or during lunch.

If the Chromebook is returned to Ms. Waldchen by someone else, she will bring it to you in your classroom, wherever you may be.

Our policy at JL Mann is that a student must find or pay for their missing Chromebook before getting a replacement.  Payment can be cash or check, in the library before 1 pm.

Some students may be eligible for a replacement when the missing Chromebook has been taken in a documented case of theft, accompanied by a police report that the student and parent have filed in a timely manner.  A copy of the police report must be given to Ms. Waldchen before a replacement will be issued.

Students who do not meet the eligibility for replacement will need to pay the Chromebook replacement cost, determined by ETS based on age of machine.

A replacement Chromebook charger  is $31.00.
