Novella: The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway

Students are highly encouraged to purchase their own copy of the novella so they can annotate freely and complete jumpstart reading before the semester begins. The novella must be read in its entirety by Friday, August 22. 

Students should read the novella closely, paying attention to its plot, character development, and thematic topics; be prepared for discussion, individual assignments, and group assignments regarding this text.
