Service Offerings
Diagnostic Assessment: The therapeutic relationship begins with an assessment with the child and parent/guardian (together and separate) and then a plan is created with goals and objectives. Expectations, confidentiality, safety, and overview of services are discussed during these initial meetings. Progress is tracked throughout the therapeutic progress with various assessment tools and instruments. Please expect for this initial session to take 60-90 minutes.
Individual Therapy: The bulk of our therapeutic work is usually done through individual sessions with your child. These sessions can range from a variety of things including: coping skill development and practice, emotional processing of problems and relationships, therapeutic activities, trauma processing, relationship building, etc. Students are pulled from class time to complete their sessions. There is open communication with teachers to ensure children are not missing critical learning time that will affect their academic performance.
Family Therapy: Services with and without the child are billed as family therapy to support the child's mental health concerns. Parent/guardian involvement is critical to a child's success in meeting their goals. These sessions can include skill-building and practice for caregivers to support the child at home, education about a child's struggle, relationship building with a child and caregiver together, conflict resolution, etc. Services are provided during the school day and virtual can be an option, if needed.
Group Therapy: Sometimes, there are multiple students in the school struggling with a common issue and group therapy is helpful to students to learn and grow together. Successful groups have included: ADHD coping skill-building, social skills, grief/ loss, etc. This may or may not be a good fit for your child's treatment and this can be discussed during the assessment or any time during the therapeutic process.

I am available during school hours only. The best way to reach me is email, since I have clients in my office most of the school day. I will return phone calls and emails within 24-48 hours when I am in the office.
I maintain a small caseload of clients and generally stay full. If you have a concern about your child, let's discuss the best option to support your child's needs, which may include referrals to providers outside of school.
