Make Up Work
(Must be added to syllabus)
Students may make up missed work from any absence within 5 days of returning to school (or as outlined by district policy) with no penalty. It is the student’s responsibility to schedule and complete the work within that time.
After 5 days, the assignment will be considered late. A zero may be temporarily recorded until the work is submitted and graded.
Late Work
(Must be added to syllabus)
If the student demonstrates active engagement, late assignments that are fully completed will be accepted with a deduction of 10 points per day for up to four school days. Work will be accepted up to five school days before the end of the quarter, with the highest possible score of a 60.
Please check the teacher syllabus for homework policy.
Major Assessments Retakes
(Must be added to syllabus)
Students are allotted one retake of a major assessment per unit if the following conditions exist:
No missing assignments (zeros) within that unit
Completion of teacher remediation practice (see teacher syllabus)
Retake assessments may differ from the original assessment.
Each retake must be completed before the end of the next unit. The highest grade of the two assessments will be recorded.
REDO:
Teachers will accept late work as their content recovery throughout the quarter. Here, teachers would allow students to turn in assignments that are missing or were never completed. Completed assignments will be graded with a minimum of a 60. *Note this will serve as the teacher’s late work policy and common-prep teams will agree on how to grade these assignments.
