Students can check out up to four books at a time and the check out time is four weeks. You can renew as many times as you would like as long as the book is not on hold by another student. Graphic novels can be checked out for up to 2 weeks at a time. If there is a book that we do not have that you would like us to look into purchasing please see the "Request a Book" tab.
The media center may be reserved for class use. Requests should be made at least one day in advance. Teachers may reserve up to three consecutive days. Library passes are required during all class periods. No student will be allowed in the library without a SmartPass and ID. Passes to the library during a student’s lunch period may be obtained prior to lunch from a teacher or library staff. Students must follow these procedures to use the library during instructional time:
Possess a library pass through SmartPass.
Upon arriving in the library, the student will scan their student ID into Library Check-In and complete the Library Check-In Form. If a student does not have an ID, they will have to purchase an ID and will be sent back to class.
When finished with work in the library, the student will scan out of Library Check-In and return to class before the end of the period. If there is a specific time the student needs to return, it is the responsibility of the teacher to let the students know.
No food or drink (other than water) is allowed in the library.
Chromebooks are available for school-related use only. Students must follow the Greenville County Schools Student Acceptable Use Policy Agreement. Computer games, downloading, instant messaging and personal emails are not permitted.
IDs are required to check out materials. Students can check out up to 4 books for up to four weeks (may be renewed as long as there are no holds by another student). Graphic novels can be checked out for 2 weeks.
We do not charge late fees, but if a book is lost or stolen, the student is responsible for paying the replacement cost.
Students will receive overdue library material/debt reminders regularly. Overdue/debt notices will be printed and distributed the last week of each grading period. Students will not be denied access to library materials if they owe fees for library materials.
Students are encouraged to participate in Media Center programs such as book clubs, reading program promotions, Teen Read Week, Summer Reading, and other library sponsored events and programs.
