Dear students,
As your teacher, I believe in your incredible potential and know that you're capable of achieving great things. Part of our journey together involves grades – those little symbols you'll see on your assignments and report cards. Let's talk about them!
Grades are like signposts on our learning journey. They're not here to scare us, but to guide us. Think of them as friendly markers that show us where we are and where we're headed. Just like explorers use maps to find their way, grades help us understand what we've mastered and what we can improve.
What Do the Grades Mean?
Grades follow a 10-point scale, and here's what they represent:
A (100-90): Outstanding! You've shown a deep understanding of the material and have gone above and beyond.
B (89-80): Great job! You've grasped the concepts well and are on the right track.
C (79-70): Good work! You're getting there, and with a bit more effort, you'll reach even higher.
D (69-60): Keep pushing! There's room for improvement, but you've got this.
F (59 and below): Let's work together to make progress. Don't worry, we're in this together.
Remember, grades are just one way to measure progress. They don't define you – your effort, curiosity, and willingness to learn are what truly matter.

A Note to Parents
Dear parents and guardians,
I want you to know that I'm your partner in ensuring your child's success. I believe that grades should be a positive tool for growth; never a source of stress. Your child's well-being and progress are my top priorities.
You can stay connected and informed by checking your child's grades on Backpack, our online platform. If you're unsure about how to access it, please feel free to reach out to me via phone or email. I'm here to help you navigate this journey alongside your child.
Let's work together to make this a wonderful and enriching school year for your amazing fourth grader!
