PSAT /NMSQT
The PSAT/NMSQT stands for Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. In the Greenville County Schools public school district, enrolled students are offered the PSAT/NMSQT for free in the 10th Grade and for a fee in the 11th Grade. (Non-enrolled students may apply to their attendance-area public high school to take the PSAT in the 10th and 11th Grades.)
Taking this test as a sophomore gives the student a good indication of how they perform on the SAT. Taking this test as a junior assists the student in qualifying for National Merit Scholars.
The PSAT is provided by College Board. Parents and students can find more information on the College Board website here: Parent's Guide to the PSAT.
