Hi! I'm Mrs. M!

I am thrilled to join the CTC and Sterling Family this year. This will be my 9th year teaching English. In the past, I have taught English II at the secondary level and English 8. I love that literature creates many opportunities for connection and meaning-making, and I look forward to some great classroom discussions.

I joined the CTC and Sterling Family this year alongside my twin daughters, Jincie Sayre and Juniper Marie. Jincie and Junie, as they are often called, will be in the first grade, and we are all looking forward to embracing this new season together!

I am a first-generation student who believes in the power of stories. My parents were born and raised in Portugal and moved to Canada as young adults. My brother, Patrick, and I were born and raised in London, Ontario, Canada. I moved to the South for college; I played college soccer at Tusculum University in Greeneville, TN (yes, there is an extra "e" in there!). To this day, I am so thankful for the experiences that have influenced and shaped my story, and I love learning about others through storytelling.
