About Dr. Moreira

Hi! I'm Dr. M!

I am thrilled to be a part of the CTC family again this year! This is my 11th year teaching English. In the past, I have taught English II at the secondary level. I love that literature creates many opportunities for connection and meaning-making, and I look forward to some great classroom discussions.

I am originally from Canada but have called South Carolina home for over 20 years. I have twin daughters, Jincie Sayre and Juniper Marie, who keep me busy!

I am a first-generation student who believes in the power of stories. My parents were born and raised in Portugal and moved to Canada as young adults. My brother, Patrick, and I were born and raised in London, Ontario, Canada. I moved to the South for college; I played college soccer at Tusculum University in Greeneville, TN (yes, there is an extra "e" in there!). To this day, I am so thankful for the experiences that have influenced and shaped my story, and I love learning about others through storytelling.
