FAQ's

What should my child be learning this year and how can I help them?

What time does the school day begin and end?

The school day begins at 7:45 and ends at 2:15.

May I join my child for lunch? What's being served?

You are welcome to eat with your child any day of the week. Please let your child's teacher know ahead of time and check their lunch time.

Do I need to send a note to school when my child is absent?

Yes. On the day your child returns to school, please, send a brief note explaining the reason for the absence. If your child has been taken to the doctor, a doctor's note is sufficient. Remember, more than 10 unexcused absences constitute truancy.

May I visit my child's classroom during the day?

Of course! We are glad to have parents visit our classroom to see how we learn. Please let your child's teacher know the day before you intend to visit stating the time you plan to come. This will help prevent any unnecessary scheduling conflicts.

Do I need to notify the teacher of transportation changes?

Yes. Please send a note if your child has a change of transportation in the afternoon. Students will be required to follow the transportation plan established at the beginning of the year, unless a note is sent stating otherwise. This is for student safety purposes.

How can I volunteer in my child's classroom?

Volunteers are welcome all day, any day. Volunteers are needed for cutting, laminating, copying papers, etc. Volunteers can also take things home to be completed and returned at a later date.  Contact your child's teacher for specific classroom needs.
