We are excited to recognize graduating seniors who have shown exceptional commitment to the WHHS Choral Department with an honor chord. Requirements are as follows:
- Must participate in chorus a minimum of 1 semester each year.
- Must maintain a B average in chorus classes.
- At least two of the chorus classes must be honors level
In addition, students must participate in at least two of the following optional activities:
- District Honor Choir
- SC All-State Chorus auditions
- SC ACDA Honor Choir auditions
- Performance outside of school (Carowinds, Caroling, State Performance Assessment, etc)
Application for an honor chord must be submitted by April 1st in order to be approved and ordered for your graduation.

Chorus Letter
Students have the opportunity to earn a letter as an active participant in the WHHS Choral Department. Students must be enrolled in an honors level class to apply and must achieve 35 points from participation in these activities:
- All-State Chorus Audition = 10 points (2 bonus points for a perfect sight reading score)
- All-State Chorus Participation = 5 points
- ACDA Honor Choir Audition = 10 points
- ACDA Honor Choir Participation = 5 points
- Audition for WHHS Solo = 1 point (maximum of 3 points)
- Service points = 1 point per hour as awarded by the director
- Participation in Singers = 5 points per semester
- District Honor Choir = 5 points
- Member of Tri-M = 5 points
- Additional chorus class = 5 points
- Sing National Anthem as solo or small group at athletic event = 3 points
- Optional performances (Half Day Showcase, Caroling, etc. - any non-required performance) = 2 points
- Attend a performance in Greenville County Schools = 1 point
- Attend a performance outside Greenville County Schools = 2 points
