SC ACDA Honor Choir

2020 General Information

SC ACDA Honor Choir Weekend will be held at Furman University on October 16-17, 2020. The weekend will consist of the 10^th Grade - 12^th Grade SSA Honor Choir and the 10^th Grade - 12^th Grade TTB Honor Choir along with concert sessions and interest sessions for teachers both days.

Students will rehearse Friday afternoon, Friday evening, and Saturday morning with a concert Saturday afternoon. Repertoire information will be sent with the selection announcement. It is very important to check your school calendars before enrolling your students and submitting your materials.

Eligibility

Singers enrolled in a SC choral program who will be in the 10^th, 11^th, or 12^th grade in the 2020 - 2021 school year are eligible to audition. (Rising 9th graders are eligible to audition for the Junior High School Honor Choir)

Each singer’s audition must be prepared and submitted by a sponsoring director who is a current member of ACDA. Students selected for the 2018 SC All-State Choirs, or the 2018 ACDA National Honor Choirs are automatically eligible without audition (audition fee must still be paid).

Commitment

All singers accepted for the SC ACDA Honor Choir are responsible for the following:

- audition fee $12

- registration fee (collected in May from students who are accepted) $70

Registration includes:

- Student registration for conference

- Music packet

- T-Shirt

- Meals during the event

- music preparation

- participation in all rehearsals and performance

- attendance at all performances of SC ACDA Conference choirs

- attire for concert

- black music folder and pencil

Timeline:

Turn in form and $12 audition fee to Mrs. Moyer by: Thursday, Feb 27, 2020

Record your submission with Mrs. Moyer before school: March 2-4, 2020.

Participating SC ACDA members will be notified of the audition results: Wednesday, April 15, 2020.

Turn in $70 Registration fees/ Forms to Mrs. Moyer: Thursday, May 7, 2020.
