What is it?
Reinforcement refers to the strategy of providing a consequence to a behavior in order to increase the likelihood that it will happen again. This requires having a general understand what our students are seeking when they engage in behavior. i.e. if our student raises their hand in order to get our attention and we want to increase this behavior and not calling out, then when they raise their hand we should give them attention and not give them attention for calling out. There are many ways to establish classroom wide reinforcement systems.
