WHY? Having your classroom schedule posted is crucial to learning. Posting your schedule not only helps keep you on track and encourages a orderly flow to your teaching, but also allows students to be prepared for the present and upcoming activities. A visual schedule is an effective antecedent strategy and preventative measure to mitigate unwanted classroom behavior.
Schedules allow students to have smooth transitions and settle in to their learning routines. Students are better able to understand what’s happening now, what’s coming next, and how to complete activities or tasks. They’re also better able to engage in active learning.
Elementary Classroom Schedules
Secondary Classroom Schedules
Specific Assignment Schedules (within activity schedule)
In addition to classroom schedule, it is important to break down each activity into smaller more manageable steps. i.e Literacy schedule, Math Schedule, Centers Schedule, Rotations, etc.
