This year, Bill Wright, Daniel Strawn, and  were selected and performed at the 2022 Cyclone Honor Band at C.Y. Stephens Auditorium on Iowa State University.

The Greene County Jazz Band hosted the Iowa Women's Jazz Orchestra for its first ever "Java and Jazz" showcase.

The Greene County Jazz Band hosted the Iowa State University Jazz Band in its second annual Java & Jazz showcase. 

November 16th, 2022

This year, Greene County Jazz 101 placed 9th of 13 Bands at SCIBA Jazz Festival at Winterset High School.  This is always our first jazz competition of the year, and our best chance to qualify for Iowa Jazz Championships.

December 10th, 2022

The GCHS Band and Choir hold their annual Dessert Concert on the second Monday of December each year.  Please come and hear some lightly holiday-themed music from our Concert Band, Concert Choir, Jazz Band, and Madrigal Singers.

Bill Wright, Ethan Hooper, Evan Bobolz, Darian Davis, Aaron Knoll, Aden Bardole, Caleb Most, Karlee Fagerlind, Daniel Strawn, Ella Ostrander, Trysten Naylor, William Graham, and Lucy Vander Linden were selected for the HOIAC Honor Band

March 2nd, 2023

At our annual Pops Concert, we performed some popular music from our pep band library as well as "My Shot" from Hamilton the Musical.  Our Jazz Band also performed a piece from their competition set.

March 7th, 2023

Each year, we host and participate in the State Solo and Small Ensemble Festival.  Students lead their ensembles and rehearse on their own time to prepare music for this Festival, where they earn ratings.  These ratings are excellent material for music resumes and often help earn scholarship money for college.

March 25, 2023

Each year, our Concert Band participates in the State Large Group Festival.  This event represents the equivalent of the Iowa Assessments for Band.

May 5th, 2023

At our annual Awards Concert, we share the results of our Large Group Festival assessment and perform our Large Group set for our home audience.  We also recognize our seniors and give awards for outstanding performance in music.

May 8th, 2023

Each year, our Marching Band performs a couple of patriotic pieces at the Scranton and Jefferson Cemeteries.  It is one of our favorite events of the year, as it promotes patriotism and gives us an opportunity to have an impact on our community through music that we love to play.

May 29th, 2023

During the annual Bell Tower Festival, our Band students from 7th through 12th grade march together in the Festival Parade.  We enjoy this final opportunity to play together before summer break officially starts.  Bell Tower Festival is very important to our community, so we always try to play our best
