The South Africa (SA) Climate Change Champs Green Opportunities Challenge is a competition open to Grade 9 - 12 learners at Climate Club host schools in the Eastern, Northern and Western Cape as part of the SA Climate Change Champs project. This initiative aims to inspire learners to imagine how green solutions can be used to create opportunities for their communities. 

The goal of the competition is to provide an accessible platform for the youth to highlight how they stand to benefit from green opportunities in their communities. By amplifying the voices of the youth, we hope to empower them to become active citizens in advocating for jobs and investment in a green economy to enable a Just Transition.

To do this, participants will be given the opportunity to showcase their artistic and technical abilities with the focus on a very relevant topic, the green economy. Participants will provide an opportunity in one the green economy categories categories and then select a method to demonstrate this opportunity.

Participants are encouraged to think of a problem affecting their homes, schools and broader communities and develop a project that shows how green solutions can create opportunities to solve or address these issues.
