Attention Deficit- Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a mental health diagnosis most everyone is aware of. It is defined as, " behavioral condition that makes focusing on everyday requests and routines challenging." It is known that people with ADHD typically have trouble getting organized, staying focused, making realistic plans and thinking before acting" (American Psychological Association). ADHD is highly diagnosed in children and it is known that 6.4 million American children between the ages of 4 and 17 are diagnosed. As teacher's, you are exposed and witness the symptoms of ADHD on a daily basis, but there is always more we can learn about ADHD to help support children who might have this diagnosis.
