Mites have been living on Earth for three million years, according to The Science Society Where exactly do they come from? The science is unclear. Cornell University says that mites are the size of a cricket. Zoomed in frontwards, though, this unspeakable bug looks like a giant mutant mother crab, of all mothers. Humans get ear wax all the time, and can rarely get these crab-looking creatures in our ears. However, they mostly target animals and do not just tell the victim when they are arriving.
Think ants are the worst? Then imagine mites third-wheeling on your pet-- the one that likes to go outside constantly and later snuggles with you while you are asleep. Hope you don't mind that ear mites can possibly be under your carpet or couch, according to Dawn Gibbs of Hunker, a homestyle magazine. Coconut oil is one of the cures for ear mites, so it might be time to stock up on coconut oil chips that might find their way under your couch or, more practically, according to The Coconut Merchant, mix coconut oil with baking soda and rub it into your carpet. Random fact: this mixture is also known to remove carpet stains.
Regarding solutions for ear mites, if there is only a one-star rating, then don't take it. Be aware of some questionable reviews that are similar to the following online review: ''If we can take a drop of hydrogen peroxide in our ears for a cure, animals can.'' While there is some disagreement amongst the veterinary community, many agree that hydrogen peroxide to fix ear mites in animals is a little too risky because of inflammation and more chances of harm. Medicine for ear mites can come in all sorts of bottles, bags, plastic boxes, sprays, and wipes found in many places, including Amazon, Walmart, and the nearest pet clinic.
To sum all of this up, be cautious of animals that randomly have poop inside and outside of their ears. Don't invite your itchy dog to your bed, and keep all kinds of bug spray on you at all times. These tips will make you look less appetizing to ear mites.
