May 18th to 22nd


This last week of school i want you to focus on all the skills and strategies we have learned . Take a skill each day and activity and do it each day of the week. This video shows some fun ways to do your writing activities too.

May 11th to 15th

This week will work on tracing any type of lines.

Parents use all the strategies and activities i have suggested below. Research the web , check out several sites to find different worksheets or even videos.


May 4th to 8th

This week will work on looping. These activities not only strengthen their fine motor skills, but give them confidence in their writting abilities.

Parents remember to make it fun. Be creative.

Activities you can use:

chalk dust ( after those side walk art activities)

dust before you dust ...LOL

flour mix with sprinkles or glitter

cereal ( I find fruity pebbles works the best )



April 27th to May 1st

Pre-Writing Skills Part 4

This week will work on tracing Circles. It is important we work on our Pre- writing skills so we learn to hold are pen, pencil , marker or crayon properly, so are writing is legible so that we become emergent writers.


Fun Activities with tracing circles:

colored water

trace circles in colored rice ( use food coloring to color your rice)

slime

April 20th to 24th

Pre-Writing Skills : Part 3

this week will work on horizontal lines. By tracing horizontal lines your student will strengthen their fine motor skills needed to form letters.


Fun activities : Practice their Horizontal strokes using the following items .

regular table salt

sand

dirt or mud

shaving cream

pudding " YUMMY" ( then they can eat it off their finger ) Always a class favorite activity.

April 13th to April 17th

Pre-Writing Skills: Part 2

All drawing and handwriting is produced by a series of strokes that form curved and straight lines in different directions, which are linked together to form patterns, shapes, letters and numbers. This week we will work on our upward stroke.

Tips: Practice in sand with their finger,

Use a paint brush and practice your child's stroke that way using paint.

Practice on a mirror using their finger , using washable paint,

Practice their strokes with their fingers using shaving cream.

April 6th to April 10th

Pre-Writing Skills: Part 1

This week we are work on tracing. To do this activity all you will need is some paper and something to write with. Please work on this skill at least once a day with your student this week.
