May 18th to 22nd

Can you believe it is the last week of School !!!. Okay , so last week we reviewed all our concepts. This week we still do review, but we play lots of fun activities with them. This is want i want you to do only do fun activities we have discussed all week.

Such as:

Go outside and fine big and small items and have them separate them into containers, bags or do a scavenger hunt for those items.

when using edibles such as candy, cereal or fruit etc. After they have identified , and put into groups. Let them eat them :)

REMEMBER MAKE IT FUN !!!

May 11th to 15th

Part 5

This week i want you to review all the math concepts we have worked on the past weeks , pick a concept a day and review, re teach and have fun.

Use all the concepts we learned about and activities below.

May 4th to 8th

Part 4

This week will work on sorting into sets.

This week will focus on sorting "Big " items.

This will give your child the opportunity to reflect on what they have already learned , but also incorporating a new skill of " Sorting " them into " Big" sets.

Items needed:

Big containers

Big items to sort

Learning Objective: Students will learn to classify items in a set ( this is also a good foundation for when we start to count.)

ACTIVITIES TO DO WITH BIG SETS

  • When cleaning up their play area have them put only the BIG toys in the a laundry basket

  • If outside blow some bubbles and only have them pop the " Big" bubbles

  • throw a ball out side and have them only throw the big ball in a hula hoop , circle, or laundry basket.

  • when doing these activities remember to reinforce that the item is BIG be super animated when saying BIG.



April 27th to May 1st

Part 3

This week will work on sorting into sets.

Sorting " small " items. This will give your child the opportunity to reflect on what they have already learned , but also incorporating a new skill of " Sorting " them into " small" sets.

Items needed:

small containers

small items to sort

Learning Objective: Students will learn to classify items in a set ( this is also a good foundation for when we start to count.)

** Parents this week work on sets of " small items" only next week will work on Big items to put in sets

ACTIVITIES TO DO WITH SMALL SETS

  • When cleaning up their room have them put only the small toys in the " Toy box"

  • If outside have them only pick up small items such as: rocks, leaves, toys or dandelions ( small ones)

  • when picking up the house have them only pick up small items such as: small toy's

  • when doing these activities you can always put them in a container and show them how small they are then put them in the proper place or every time they pick up the small toy or item say " Yes that "Toy" is small


April 20th to 24th

Part 2

Small vs. Big: Which one is SMALLER?

Learning Objectives: Students will compare objects based on their size.

Explicit Instruction/Teacher modeling: Explain that the smaller item that you use is smaller because it takes up less space or show them how much smaller it is compared to the smaller item.

April 6th to April 10th

Big vs. Small: Which one is BIGGER?

Learning Objectives: Students will compare objects based on their size.

Explicit Instruction/Teacher modeling: Explain that the bigger item that you use is bigger because it takes up more space or show them how much bigger it is compared to the smaller item.
