Last week of school. Lets make Peanut butter sandwiches... WOWZA...... who does not love those. ( If allergic to peanuts substitute with your favorite toppings)
This week we want you to learn the do's and don'ts of the microwave and how to use the Microwave safely. Because , Next week we will cook Mac 'N Cheese in the Microwave YUMMY !!!
May 4th to 8th

Things you will need:
Peanut butter
Jam or Jelly
Bread
2 butter knife
napkin or plate
April 27th to May 1st
Students this week we will be making toast
Skill we are working on is " Spreading"
Items you will need:
Butter knife
butter or jam ( anything you like to eat on toast you can spread)
toast , bagel , muffin
plate
* Follow toaster instructions from last weeks lesson
*Parents help your student make a choice of which item they would like to place inside the toaster to toast and what they would like to spread onto their desired choice.
April 20th to 24th
This week we will learn how to use a toaster.
Instructions:
plug the toaster in
put the bread in the slots
use the lever to lower toast down into the toaster
After the toast " pops" up wait a minute because the toast will be hot .
take the toast out and put on to a plate.
April 13th to April 17th
Kitchen Safety
Parents talk to you child about Kitchen safety this week.
Kitchen Rules:
Always ask an adult's permission before cooking in the kitchen
Wash Your Hands
Clean As You Go
Never touch a hot stove or other hot items in the kitchen
Use a Potholder or Towel to Carry and Hold Hot Items
Practice Good Knife Safety Tips

Hand Washing
This week in home living -kitchen class we will focus on how to properly wash our hands. This is the first thing we do before we do any task or cooking in the kitchen.
Washing Your Hands – Task Analysis
Stand in front of the sink.
Turn the faucet on.
Wet your hands.
Put soap on your hands.
Rub your hands together for 20 seconds or until you finish singing the Happy Birthday song.
Turn the faucet back on.
