Visual Motor
Visual motor skills are essentially the coordination of visual perception and fine motor control such as being able to catch a ball as it is tossed at you, copying/drawing a pattern, or copying/drawing letters, numbers and shapes.
Many of these activities require using both hands together which can be difficult. Your student may require increased assistance to be successful.
Here is a list of activities you could try to encourage fine motor skills with your student:
Ball skills-catching throwing, kicking, hitting
Worksheets- mazes, dot to dot, color by numbers, copy or trace- lines, letters, shapes and numbers
Lacing activities
Make bracelets using cereal or noodles
Parquetry designs
Pegboard with designs
Puzzles
Building with blocks to copy a design
Sort items into a muffin tin
Bingo marker with worksheet
Cutting on a line
Playing games on a tablet
