Junior Phantoms

Junior Update!

December, 2019, By: Calley Scheller

The day before we were supposed to go on break for Thanksgiving last month the Elementary was supposed to participate in our annual turkey trot, however, it was cancelled due to the weather conditions. They plan to reschedule it. On the 11th of December the 1st grade class went to the Grand Canyon Airport to see santa for the holidays. They took pictures with him and told them what they would like for Christmas while receiving fantastic little gifts for the event. Such as a necklace with bells, playdough, candy, and many other fun little toys. Upper Elementary is also in the lead for the canned food drive in the beginning of the competition. The middle school girls basketball season ended in December, A team won second place and the B team won first place in their tournaments. It was a great way to end the season. Now middle school boys will prepare for their basketball season to start when we come back from holiday break. The kids are all really excited for the holidays this year! See you in the new year!

We would like to acknowledge the

Middle School Soccer

Middle school soccer is off to a rough start this year with a record of 5-1-4. Last week they had two huge wins, the first against Ash Fork and the second against Seligman. The score against Ash Fork was 1-0 and the score against Seligman was 3-0. As a young team, I would suggest that they stay on their feet and control the ball better and not give up. It was important that the junior Phantoms were supported by their families and friends who attended their games and cheered them on.

“WE INSPIRE GIRLS”

“to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.”

Grand Canyon School started Girls on the Run in August of 2019. Girls on the Run is filled with third- through fifth-grade girls who meet every Tuesday and Thursday. They learn life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program is taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches, which includes three parts: understanding their selves , valuing relationships, and teamwork. Running is used to inspire and motivate the girls, and to encourage health, fitness and to build confidence through accomplishment.
