When I was entering middle school, I didn't know how to react. On the first day, I was lost. I was also feeling nervous since I didn't know anyone except for about 4 people that had came here from my elementary school. When I met all of my teachers, I felt a bit relieved since all of them were kind.
This one teacher, though, Mr. Skipper, gave us projects to complete. I enjoyed doing them all. He gave us an assignment on where we have to make something from the Middle Ages inside of a shoe box (a diorama). I also made a shield where we make the things that are special to us inside of it. I was kind of disappointed to not being able to finish it since I was really looking forward to painting the shield. In my other classes, we just did what the subject was. As in if I were to go to math class, that's exactly what we will be doing.
I also made new friends along the way. The first person that talked to me was a girl named Brianna. We were in math class. Since that was my first class, I didn't know where to sit. I sat in an empty desk where Brianna was. There was also a girl named Madison who sat there that also spoke to me. Brianna started talking to me every day. She was really kind and funny. Madison would make me laugh too. When it was the end of the day, I no longer felt scared or nervous. I was excited to go to school the next day so that I can learn and see my friends.
Though, when it reached spring break, I had to say goodbye to my friends. Little did I know that I won't be coming back for the rest for the year. A virus named "Coronavirus" had spread so badly to the point where we had to stay in our home and wear masks 24/7 whenever we were outside. The cases escalated quickly when people didn't take it seriously. We couldn't return back to school. We even skipped the STAAR test! At this point, I hoped that the Coronavirus situation would get better, so that I could return to school before the next school year.
