When I started Middle School I was really nervous. Not only because of the fact I'm going to middle school but because I moved districts from HISD to GPISD over the summer. That meant I had to make a lot more friends and meet lots of new people. I was very shy at first because I didn't know anyone but then I started talking to people and started to talk to them and make new friends. It was really hard at first going from class to class because all the schedules were messed up.
A couple of weeks into the school year the Assistant Principal came to my class and told me they switched my schedule and moved me into Encounters. When I started Encounters I was shy because there were people in the class that I haven’t talked to. It didn’t take long for me to start talking to people and making more friends. When I was in Encounters we did a lot of creative things. We created Dioramas of the Middle Ages, a College Collage and we even made a shield. Everyone in Encounters was really nice and I enjoyed being in the class with them every single day.
School passed by then came Spring Break. The last thing I did before spring was watching The Teachers vs Students Basketball Game. Spring Break was only supposed to be one week, then they postponed school and added an extra week. And after that, the district postponed class and decided to do virtual learning. The reason for the district postponing face to face learning was because Covid-19 was spreading a lot over a couple of weeks. That was when the virus started to come to the United States from China and the outbreak of the virus happened. Before all of the Covid-19 and school being postponed overall I really enjoyed the year and hope this year will be better.
