hello! And welome to Isaac's Encounters Website
In the past school year, I and everyone that was in sixth grade at that time had a lot of ups and downs. We had to go through New schedule changes and most importantly the current pandemic the Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. In addition to that, the feeling of going to a new school haunted me.
At the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year I felt confident, nervous, and excited all in one, it was like a combo of mixed emotions. I was feeling confident because I knew I could accomplish all A´s on my report card. Also, I was nervous because I was going to a new school with bigger kids. I felt excited too because I was going to meet my old friends, make new ones, play the saxophone, and have many teachers in one day.
The first day of school was really weird. It was weird because in my first year at middle school the principal decided to change the format of the schedule! So, because of that about the first month was a waste. I remember that the people in the classes would come and go because they were confused. Then everything got calmer and everyone was in Thier right classes.
At that time people were in encounters and we started working on our projects. I researched about three topics including Fuedilism, Dragons, and Inventions. We also made 3D shoebox dioramas out of clay and other household found items. I made mine over the topic of Dragons and I used clay, metal coins, glue, feathers, and much more. In addition to the paper and the diorama, we made a clay coat of arms. My coat of arms had a treble clef which resembles music, an owl that represents wisdom, a sibling symbol, and a cross.
We had almost finished with everything the only thing left to do was to paint the Shields. Then we went on spring break and the district announced that due to what was and is happening we were going to stay home. At first, they said it was going to be a week than two then a month and those days we had to do virtual I felt worried about what was going to happen over the next year. Then the next thing you know the school year was over. I did not get to experience painting my shields, go to my first band concert, and even the STAAR tests.
In conclusion, in the past school year, the Coronavirus has affected us in many ways including spiritually, emotionally, academically, and most importantly socially.
