6th Grade Reflection

6th Grade Reflection

6th Grade is a very fun year for me and probably my favorite year

Covid affected me this year because before all this happened I liked using paper for things because I just feel more comfortable with paper, but now we use Chromebooks a lot and not paper and I just feel more satisfied with paper, I’ve gotten used to the Chromebook though but I still do prefer paper of it. The one thing I will remember was when we sculpted the shield and painted them because it was really fun and I think we all had a good time. Also, it was my first time sculpting a shield so it was a very interesting experience. I am proud of the fact that next year I could maybe be a part of the National Junior Honor Society, so even if I don’t get in then at least I tried for it. So I would still be proud. The nicest thing someone has done for me in class was when they help me get my work done or explain things I don’t understand. The person that helped me this year was Sara Lopez she is kind and was really smart too.The most challenging thing this year was math, because I kind of struggled in 5th grade, but I feel better about it sometimes I do forget some of the things I learned so I study them to remember them and now I feel better about it and think I'm pretty good at it. If I could change one thing that happened this year would be the fact that they let kids choose if they want to wear masks, because then more kids or teachers can get sick which is not what we want. So I think they should still make people wear masks but I guess that's just their choice on what to do. The 3 main important things I learned are ELAR, Math, and Science. ELAR is important because it’s one of the STARR tests for 6th grade same with Math too. Science also because you learn things that could be on STARR tests to come so if you don’t pay attention now later it will come back to you.

The one thing that was hard for me at the beginning of the year was learning how to sight-read in choir. It was hard at first but then once I practiced a lot I got the hang of it, and now I do my hand signs pretty good so it did get easier after I practiced.

I think I improved a lot in ELAR because I was okay at it but now I think I feel pretty confident when I do it and it feels like I achieved 6th-grade ELAR, but not fully yet because I still have to do the STARR test. I also think I achieved math because it was a little hard and first but now I think I got pretty good at it and I learned more and it has gotten a lot easier for me personally. 6 adjectives I could use to describe 6th grade is fun because 6th grade is fun especially with friends to get through it and it’s fun to learn. Next, it would be challenging because you learn new things but it’s pretty easy to get the hang of it. Exciting because you can go on different field trips with your friends.Easy because you understand it pretty easily at least for me.Nervous because on the first day I thought I would get lost which I did because I thought it was big but it's really not.Friendly because the kids are somewhat nice and the teachers are also pretty nice to the kids too.
