October Project (1 of 1) - Kid Pix - "Picture the Fact"
Students will transfer their assignment (Picture the Fact) into KidPix. Students will draw a line in the middle of the paper so they can separate the addition and subtraction problem. In the top box the students will type their addition number sentence and use the stamp icon to create the pictures that will represent the numbers. On the bottom box the students will type their subtraction number sentence and repeat the same process that was done on the top box. To cross out pictures for the subtraction problem, the students will have to use the pencil icon and click on the line icon. Students can change the thickness of the line. At the end of the activity the students have to type their name. Then the students will click the save icon and save to their H:drive. Please see the example below.
Nov - Dec Project (1 of 1) - Kid Pix - Sorting Needs and Wants

Review with students how to use the tools in the toolbar to create a visual mind map in KidPix using. (ie. drawing tools, paint bucket, text, etc.).
Student Choice Option: Students can use different mediums in which to draw their pictures (ie. paint, chalk, marker, etc.) They can also adjust the line thickness and color of their drawing and choose different backgrounds, texts, and stamps. To create this project, students can draw, insert stickers, and/or insert stamps. They should do three or four of each, needs and wants. They may sort them vertically or horizontally.
