7th grade has been an absolute journey of failures and improvements. I've lost and made friends, lost and won games, failed and passed test, but it is all part of growing up and improving yourself over time. Although I experienced difficulties in and out of school, I always made sure to try my best and to enjoy my teen years.
Being in all advanced classes made my 7th grade year very difficult. I started learning about all sorts of different things like pre-algebra and Texas history. Having to deal with teachers uploading new assignments every 20 minutes was quite stressful and made it hard for me to keep up with the rest of the students. With the pressure of having to maintain good grades I was put into a lot of stress. But with the help of my amazing teachers, I was able to understand my classes better and was able to keep up with my work.
This school year I came out of my comfort zone and decided to make new friends. I started by making conversation with my classmates about our work. I then soon became friends with a lot of different students and got closer with some of my old friends. One of my electives has a mixture of 7th and 8th graders, so i took this opportunity to become friends with some 8th graders. They told me about their experience of when they were in the 7th grade, and we were able to relate to each other. My athletics period is a class with only girls, so I made a lot of new friends because we all get along and get to play sport related games together.
In the summer before 7th grade, I joined a soccer team in the North Shore FC. I have always loved being physically active and convinced my mom to sign me up to be in a soccer club. My interest in the sport began since I was a little girl. I would always play with my parents in my back yard since they also played soccer when they were younger. Although I barely joined the team last year, I have already become close friends with all of my teammates and coaches. We work together in practice to get better and prepare for our games. No matter if we lose or win our games, we always make sure to have fun and have good sportsmanship while doing so.
For me, I saw 7th grade as a new era with new opportunities to make my future as great as possible. This new year made me change my perspective on how I view things. I now only see the positive side of the world. I persevere and work hard for my desires. This year also made me realize that things happen for a certain reason, so I should be glad and grateful for change.
