Dear Reader,
6th grade was an emotional roller coaster, that I could deal with any day now. At the beginning of the year, it was hard because I left all my friends from elementary. Luckily, I realized a lot of the people who were in Encounters from last year with me came here, so I wasn't extremely lonely. The hard thing was to memorize the schedule on the first days, afterwards it was easy. I made friends on my own too. I remember Laura was the first person that I talked to that I didn't know, now we talk every day. In electives, I met more people like Anastazia, Brianna, and Brooklyn. I realized that some of my friends right now, like Samantha and Divinity, have classes with me other than electives. After a few days, I realized I had the same schedule as Emily, Leilani, Mauricio, and Gio. I got used to them after a while, seeing them every period excluding electives. Throughout the year a lot of things happened. Practicing for athletics next year was stressful, Diamond moved schools, and I could be sad, angry, happy, excited, nervous, anxious, and confused all in one day. In reality, girls do get more drama and have it more hard than boys, if you didn't know. In general, lunch was my favorite part of the day because I got to sit with Gabby, Maddie, Laura, and Divinity. I also got to text friends that didn't sit with me. Memories from 6th grade are one of the most valuable to me and I hope I never forget them. I wish this year could last longer because I don't want to say goodbye. I wouldn't change anything that happened this year.
Much Love,
Genesis C.
