Describe a time this year when you faced a challenge, and how you grew from the experience. What did you learn about your own resilience?
This year I had faced many challenges, but the most challenging one was my art project. I had to restart twice before starting my final work. My project wasn't a single image drawing it was multiple images in a folding format. When I was done by the deadline, my art teacher made me add more drawings. I had to complete my work on a weekend, but luckily she extended the deadline. I still had to do much work and I didn't have enough time, or that's what I thought. What I learned from this was to always take my time and be ready for whatever life throws at me.
2. Academic Achievements: Identify your most significant academic achievement this year. What strategies did you use to accomplish it, and how does it impact your future goals?
An academic achievement for me this year was getting close to 3rd place on calculator skills at UIL. I had gotten 4th place and was very close to 3rd place. What I did to accomplish this was going to every practice to get better at solving questions. This achievement helps me impact my future goals because now I know how to improve in many ways in different areas. It also impacts my goals by knowing that I can and will be able to achieve getting on the podium the following competition.
3. Personal Values: Reflect on your personal values. Did they evolve or change this year? Provide examples of how your actions aligned (or didn't align) with those values.
This year, I learned more about my personal values and what is important to me. Some of my main values are to work hard, keep going, and to try improving. For example, when I had upcoming choir competitions, I made sure to go to every sectional Mr. O had so I could get better. I think my values changed this year because I focus more on practicing an improving, rather than just winning. There were times when I got distracted, but I kept redirecting my attention to every choir class/ practice.
4. Community Impact: How did you contribute to your school or local community this year? What did you learn about the importance of giving back?
This school year I went to our choir UIL competition. We had gotten high rankings and beat everyone who participated. This contributed to my school by proving that our choir might be the best in the city (at least that's what Mr. O says). What I learned from this was that winning for your school feels good because you prove that you have learned and practiced a lot. So this proves to our school that we have done hard work and all that work led to us winning!

5. Friendship and Relationships: Evaluate your friendships and relationships this year. What qualities do you value most in your connections with others?
This year I made many new friendships and stayed friends with the same people. My best friend Iris and I have been friends ever since Kindergarten! I have stayed friends with Abby Tovar, Lizbeth, Teresa, Mila, Michelle, Abby Hernandez, Miya, and Xavier. I have gotten to know Mia Almazan, Isabella, Valeria G, Lailah, and Illioth better. What I value of each of their qualities is that they all seem comfortable when around me. In my connections with others what I value most is that they are honest and have a funny characteristic (all my friends are VERY funny).
6. Learning from Failure: Describe a time you experienced failure this year. What did you learn from this experience, and how will it influence your approach to future challenges?
This year I experienced failure when I didn't get the exact result I wanted at a UIL competition. Even though I worked hard and practiced a lot, I still felt slightly disappointed at the outcome. What I learned from that was that it was how I could figure out where I had to improve. It showed me that even if I don't place, I am still getting better and learning new skills. In the future this will help me stay more positive and keep trying, even when things are hard.
7. Inspiration and Role Models: Who inspired you this year? What qualities do you admire in this person, and how did they influence your actions?
This year, like many years, my aunt Neli has inspired me to keep trying in everything I did and do. What I admire about her is that she can make you feel better about something and give you motivation to keep trying no matter what gets in your way. This year, my aunt Neli has helped me by giving advice on how to do things, how to be more organized, and how to succeed. She is one of my inspirations for this year and my role model. My mom also inspired me this year because she kept nagging me about keeping my grades up. If it weren't for her constantly checking my grades, my grades would have been low. She also motivated me to keep going on with my projects or work whenever I felt like giving up.

8. Most Memorable Moment: Describe your most memorable moment from this school year. What made it so significant, and what emotions did you experience?
This school year I made many memorable moments. Of all moments, the ones I enjoyed the most were in my art class. In that class my friends and I were always laughing at the jokes our teacher made. In that class I felt like you could say the most random things and most people would just shrug their shoulders. One specific moment I remember was when my friends and I were discussing a topic. My friend misheard a word, then said a word that was not even close to the actual one. We all started laughing at what she had said. What made this moment significant was that we all were laughing and enjoying that class.
9. Areas for Improvement: Identify two or three areas where you would like to improve in the coming year. What specific steps will you take to achieve these improvements?
For the coming year I would like to improve on my short constructive response skills, on writing essays, and getting better at certain topics in math. I want to get better at writing because I feel like I could do better at explaining the certain topic. In math I want to get better at proportions because I do not find that topic easy enough to understand. For getting better at writing, I could start off by evaluating the topic in my head then writing rough drafts. In math, I could go to tutorials and ask for help in between classes.
10. Looking Ahead: What are your hopes and aspirations for the coming school year? What goals do you want to set, and what steps will you take to achieve them?
For the upcoming school year I hope to stay in all advanced classes and in encounters. I would also like to get better and still be in my school's varsity choir. The first steps I have to take to stay in all advanced classes is to pass all my STAAR test, get good grades in all classes, and passing every test I take. To stay in varsity choir I have to follow all of Mr. O's rules, sing with passion. If I do all of that, all of my goals would be achievable.
